The subject of a sentence is a noun that is what the sentence is about.
Examples: 1. Johnny threw the ball to me The sentence is about "Johnny" and what he did.
2. The light in here is very bright. The sentence is about the light.
3. Janet went to Hawaii on vacation this summer. The sentence is about Janet and what she did this summer.
Every sentence has a subject and a verb.
